The Waystone
handbook
The rules and expectations for playing on Waystone.Use ordinary words. No rule codes needed.
COMMUNITY / Community conduct
Treat other people with respect.
The same standards apply in Minecraft, Discord, voice, and direct messages. Disagreement is normal. Harassment and hostility are not.Don't make it personalDisagreement is fine. Harassment, threats, discrimination, and deliberately making someone feel unsafe are not.
- Do not harass, bully, stalk, intimidate, or target another person.
- Do not use slurs, discriminatory abuse, threats, or dogpiling.
- Give people space when they clearly ask for it.
- Step away or ask staff for help before a disagreement becomes hostile.
PvP means everyone agreedPvP, recording someone in voice, and similar personal interactions require clear agreement.
- Do not attack, trap, bait, or pressure someone into PvP.
- An agreed duel does not permit unrelated or continued attacks.
- Do not record or publicly stream another person's voice without permission.
- Consent can be withdrawn. Stop when someone withdraws it.
Use chat without taking it overUse the right channel, avoid disruptive behaviour, and do not turn Waystone into a venue for inflammatory debates.
- Do not spam, flood chat, reaction-wall, repeatedly ping, or play disruptive audio.
- Keep recruitment, shops, support, and events in their intended spaces.
- Do not send unsolicited advertising, recruitment, or argumentative direct messages.
- Personal references are fine. Prolonged political, religious, or culture-war debates are not.
NOTE: A genuine first mistake about where something belongs is normally guidance, not defiance.
BUILDING / Land, claims and building
If it isn't yours, leave it alone.
Claims prevent accidents, but they are not the only sign that something belongs to someone. Ask when ownership or permission is unclear.Don't grief, steal or interfereAnother player's build, storage, grave, farm, or system remains theirs even when a claim is missing or incomplete.
- Do not damage, alter, take from, or use another player's property without permission.
- Do not use fire, lava, water, TNT, mobs, or redstone to cause damage.
- Unclaimed does not mean abandoned or free to loot.
- If you cause accidental damage, stop, preserve the area, and contact the owner or staff.
Use resource worlds for heavy gatheringGather renewable bulk resources in the resource worlds and protect the permanent world's landscape.
- Avoid unnecessary scarring, floating trees, abandoned pillars, and exposed quarry pits.
- Use designated resource worlds for destructive gathering wherever practical.
- Follow posted rules for TNT, quarrying, and world resets.
- Repair accidental environmental damage when it is safe to do so.
NOTE: The final TNT depth will be stated here once the current source conflict is resolved.
Give neighbours some roomLeave sensible space, communicate about boundaries, and recruit for towns honestly.
- Do not crowd, surround, or deliberately obstruct another town or established build.
- Discuss roads, borders, large builds, and shared resources before they become disputes.
- Town recruitment must be truthful and posted in the designated forum.
- Town rules may add expectations, but cannot override the community handbook.
FAIR PLAY / Fair play and stewardship
Play honestly and build with the server in mind.
If a mod, exploit, or machine does the playing for you, gives you an unfair edge, or makes the server struggle, check before using it.No cheats, dupes or exploit abuseDo not use modifications, automation, duplication, or unintended mechanics to gain an unfair advantage.
- Do not use x-ray, movement cheats, combat assistance, macros, or prohibited automation.
- Do not duplicate items or repeatedly exploit a bug for benefit.
- Report serious exploits privately and do not teach others how to reproduce them.
- Cosmetic and accessibility tools are normally fine when they do not reveal hidden information or automate play.
Don't build a lag machineFarms and machines must not cause sustained lag, excessive entities, or disruption for nearby players.
- Use shut-off controls on large or continuously running systems.
- Avoid unnecessary entity accumulation, rapid clocks, and forced chunk loading.
- Follow any published limits for farms, mobs, storage, and redstone.
- Cooperate if staff ask you to pause or adjust a system while performance is investigated.
TRADING / Market stalls, trades and items
Say what you're selling and stick to the deal.
A good market depends on honest signs, clear deals, and knowing that the items on sale are legitimate.Questionable items go to staffReturn accidental gains, respect death drops, and ask staff about suspicious or duplicated items.
- Do not keep items you know were duplicated, spawned improperly, or received through an exploit.
- Do not take another player's death drops unless they clearly give permission.
- Return items or currency received because of an obvious mistake.
- Contact staff privately when an item's origin is uncertain.
List shops and services honestlyPrices, stock, contents, delivery, and service terms must be represented honestly.
- Do not scam, conceal material terms, or knowingly mislabel an item or service.
- Use the designated shop forum and keep your listing current.
- Resolve genuine mistakes promptly and in good faith.
- Do not exchange Waystone items, currency, ranks, access, or services for real-world value.
SAFETY / Privacy and safe company
